Service Degradation Notice – Radio Issues at Torrington & New Milford Sites

A tower crew was dispatched this morning to address the system degradation that occurred late last week in Torrington and New Milford. The issues were identified and repaired. The system is now back to 100% functionality.

Update 2: 11/14/2025 3:15 PM

We have restored Response operations in New Milford by utilizing the Command antenna. At this time, the Command channel has been temporarily set to receive-only mode.

Current Operational Status

  • Torrington: Response operational; Command in receive-only mode
  • New Milford: Response operational; Command in receive-only mode

This configuration is a temporary workaround. A tower crew is still scheduled for Monday morning to perform a full assessment and complete permanent repairs.

This will be the last planned update unless there is a major change or the system becomes fully operational.

Update 1: 11/14/2025 11:02 AM

This morning we performed additional testing, including full antenna sweeps and a drone inspection, to verify system performance and check for any faults. Based on the results, we have confirmed antenna-related issues at both the Torrington and New Milford sites. We have arranged for a tower crew to be on-site first thing Monday morning to begin addressing and correcting these problems. We will provide updates as the work progresses.

We are currently experiencing radio communication issues at two separate sites:

Torrington Area – VHF Command TX/RX:
A faulty antenna has been identified at this location. Our team is working to obtain and
install a replacement as soon as possible.

New Milford Area – VHF Response TX:
This site is currently offline. Technicians have been dispatched and are enroute to
diagnose and attempt to resolve the issue.

we work to restore full service.
